Summer of Wisdom

I broke out in a heavy sweat at 8:30 this morning walking the 22 feet to my car door. Summer is officially here! I know classes have begun and jobs have been found. It's an exciting time. Unfortunately along with the freedom and sabbath of summer comes some social withdrawals and, dare I say it, boredom! Well, check your facebook inbox one last time and then put it away for a while- I've got some events and fun things to tell you about at Wisdom.

Tuesdays this Summer (starting 6/16) We'll be having a little bit of fun and hopefully making some new friends. If you were around last summer you know our Tuesday fun nights were packed with good times, good friends and inexpensive events. Movies, game night, bowling and more, including snacks and lots of laughs. We'll meet at Wisdom at 6pm no matter the event but check this website (and facebook) often for updates on events and pictures of the week before. Bring some new friends.

Wednesday nights (starting 6/17) we'll start up our S.O.S (Summer of Scripture) part 2. This year we'll be jumping into the current events of the world head first and finding out how and if they impact our faith. Bring a Bible if you have one. We'll use some Scripture, dig in on a little Catechesis and have lots of interesting discussion. Check back here for the topic of the week and then go read a newspaper or a news website! click here if you don't know where to start. 6pm - snacks included. Bring a new friend -get an extra dose of scriptural goodness :)

Later this summer we'll be giving lots of good details about this years C.A.M.P Wisdom and our big exciting back to school retreat and other events. In the meantime if you'd like to help with Freshman Orientations or the planning for Camp Wisdom note the following.
Orientation helpers meet at Wisdom on Wednesdays @ 10:30 (except the 9th)- expo lasts until 12 or a little after.
Camp Wisdom planners meet Tuesday night, 6/16 at 8pm (after the movie)for an introduction meeting!

The fun all starts tomorrow night 6/16 - 6pm @ Kurzweg Cafe with the classic movie Groundhog Day. See you then!

Don't forget to check this site often for updates and pics from previous events.

Also! This weekend we celebrated the 17th anniversary of our very own Pastor Pappa C (Father Chester) Serving the Church as a Priest! We also said a sad goodbye and had a celebration of thanksgiving for the gift of our Associate Pastor Father Clement. You'll be in our prayers Father Clement. We love you!
See video's for both of our prayerful pappa's on the sidebar. H.T. to our very talented Sarah Mele for the vids.
